Sienna has been boxed for the time being because of based Bruce, and I've begun grinding Gneiss, to slay the local gymleader. As was said in the previous thread she's going to be boss as fuck for the first 4 gyms. Giving me enough time to make Bruce a heavy hitter for Chuck and leaving Pryce as the current wild-card. The steel gym leader who I cba to remember will be simple enough.

I do miss abilities and obvious natures, but fueled by nostalgia and at the moment some fermented hops and barley, I will delve into johto.

I started a nuzlocke in OR recently. Got through the first two gyms with no casualties, only to lose Boombox the Whismur to a crit Rock Tomb from an Aron on Route 110.

Current team is

Derp, same anon here, I didn't notice another anon was doing it. I didn't get any glitch with taunt myself, at least not when the AI used it. Just a tip, the water gym is less brutal than it used to be, but it's still a bitch.

Whelp I dun goofed. I relied too heavily on rng with magnitude and got stomp flinched into losing because I restricted my item use and Gneiss was the only one mon enough to stand up to the tank. I had access to dig, it could have been different.

Gonna re-start with the blunt-necked dino because meganium a tank + guaranteed geodude(hopefully) = success? I don't know honestly, I've never really used the green tank. Here's to hoping.

We probably both got lucky with the shinies, and M-Luke is the only Mega in this one I believe, it's a regular level 70 evo according to my friend, and it still has inner focus. My Aerodactyl and his Chomp didn't "evolve".

Yeah, Blazed Glazed. I'm extremely surprised that Whimsicott, Emboar and Weavile lived up until now, even though I got awfully lucky and got like 20 close calls at <20 hp throughout the game, if not more.

Is there a DPPt hack on the level of quality of Sacred Gold/Storm Silver? I tried playing Bloody Platinum, huge mess, enemy trainer teams are boring and unimaginative, stuff like level 50 slakoth, vigoroth and slaking, often you'll find a route near a city with a gym with wild pokemon in a higher level than the gym leader's team, etc

anyone know how the happiness modifier cheat for the gameshark works on crystal?
not doing a nuzlocke,just playing through crystal for the first time and want to make my eevee into an umbreon right away.
I enter the code for crystal and first pokemon slot modifier, try leveling up and nothing happens.

Well shit. I'm left with a Quilava and a Golem. I can replace Shellder with a Tentacool I caught or the Red Gyarados (which I'm about to catch soon). I have Kenya to replace Pidgeotto, which isn't bad since it gets boosted EXP and evolves soon, shouldn't be too hard. I have no idea what to replace Eevee with, since I was planning on getting an Espeon. I have a low leveled Snubull in the box which could work, but grinding in Johto is so hard, and I'm playing on an actual cartridge with a GBA SP so it will be several hours before I can progress with him. Maybe I'll just suck it up with 4 team members until I can catch a few others. I haven't given up yet though.

Return is probably better. Paralysis is not dependable enough, especially that it only has a 25% chance to stun. Too random IMO, better to rely on higher OHKO chance.

a) black out = game over
#2 - Only catch the first encounter in a new area
a) can ignore duplicates until unique encounter
b) shinies bypass the rule (on a cart so I'll transfer them)
c) ingame trades allowed
d) begins as soon as Pokeballs are obtainable
e) HM slaves are allowed to be separate, but not usable in battle
f) each Safari Zone "area" is separate
#3 - All get nicknames
#4 - No resets
#5 - Battle style "set"

After a few days the journey continues. A few highlights include:

I Managed to catch the Red Gyarados and its on the team. Kenya got destroyed by a Rocket's Raticate when it landed a critical hit Hyper Fang on it. RIP Kenya. So I pulled out a dupe Pidgey I had in the box as a replacement. Its now at the same level as the rest of the team and evolved into Pidgeotto, once again. I also caught the 1st Electrode in the Rocket Hideout, going to use it too as my 5th team member since it's already past level 20 so less grinding. Only trouble is that it doesn't get any electric moves. I'll have to buy the Thunder TM from the Goldenrod Game Corner when I have enough money for the coins. It's actually pretty expensive.

So now the team is Quilava, Golem, Pidgeotto, Gyarados, and Electrode. I'm hoping for a grass type when I get to Route 44, I have a 60% chance to encounter one there, either Bellsprout, Weepinbell, or Tangela. I'm still guaranteed a Shuckle, Suicune, Tyrouge, Dratini, and a handful of other catches.

My box has like 2 Zubats, 4 Ratattas/Raticates (I don't play with a Dupes clause, I think it is more challenging), a Koffing, a Tentacool, a Snubull, a Togepi, and a Poliwag. Barring a complete team wipe, I think I'll make it to Red.
