I think it's out of frustration because many of us want to make a game, but nobody has the initiative to do it.

I saw only some little issues with Undertale, like Alphys getting really obnoxious with her calls at Hotlands puzzles, but else it's a really well crafted game, specially in its characters.

Hotlands was easily the weakest part of the game for me. Mettaton and Muffet redeems it a little, though.

Honestly.

Can anyone tell my why undertale was so AMAZING AND GREAT.

I mean, it's a pretty good game. It's interesting.
But is it THE BEST THING EVER? No. It's not.

The story is alright. The gameplay is alright. You're essentially playing kiddie's first bullet hell/platformer combo. I know people say "BUT IT'S SO AMAZING AND UNIQUE IN ITS GAMEPLAY", but it isn't. Games have done stuff like this many times before. The only difference is this time it all comes packaged together by the dude who helped make homestuck.

I honestly think that's where most of the thunder comes from. People know the dude made something that became amazingly popular online, so obviously his game must be the shit.
But it isn't the shit. Honestly, Homefront had a more compelling story, and that game was fucking hated for its story.

Earthbound wasn't made to be pulp culture material. Earthbound was made to be funny and quirky. Then it became part of pulp culture.

Undertale was made specifically to try and wedge its way into pulp culture. It worked because the dude who made it was already fucking amazingly popular.

For people knew about it beforehand and who had played the demo and liked it, it lived up to the hype and met all expectations, so the already existing fanbase was overjoyed.
For people who didn't know or care about it prior to release, it's a positive surprise that subverts the expectations that most people have when it comes to indie RPGs with bad art.

Combine these two factors and the end result is a game people won't stop talking about.

Once there, either kills (having more than enough power for it) or waits for 6 humans to die (possible if they're sneaky enough), and takes their souls.
And like that, there's 7 souls to break the barrier.

Undertale is a huge and shameless ripoff of the Mother series, not to mention that it has literally stolen, copyrighted content like an entire fucking track from Mother, just at a different tempo and using different samples. And speaking of samples, the guy stole Megaman X, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Touhou, Earthbound (who would have guessed?) and other games' samples because omg its so expensive and hard to buy or make my own.

That, and the fanbase is obnoxious as fuck, even on par with the MLP fanbase.

The characters of Undertale are pretty nice, but the story and concept is unoriginal plus the facts about the music you mentioned.

I don't know the name of the actual song (neither the original nor the name that was given in Undertale), but this was stolen and slightly modified. If you played Undertale you'll recognize it.

Also, for the non-musicians: A sample (sample, not sampling) is an instrument in wave format that was obtained through a recording of the actual instrument or synthetically generated by a software. Most of the time they're used in a package containing the most common MIDI instruments for convenience, said package is called a soundfont.

Who says it doesn't? Just because someone made a soundfont with it and distributed it on the internet doesn't mean it's completely free to use. Nintendo owns everything that was used in their games, as they tell you usually at the beginning or end of the game.

It does have them though, I mean, Megalovania itself was a song made for an Earthbound hack, so it makes sense it keeps the intro Guitar. And no, Mother 3's Piano sounds more realistic, while Chrono Trigger's Piano has a very distinctive sound. Look for Memories of Green and you'll notice it.

It's the same. It sounds slightly out of tune though, but that doesn't mean it's different, also, the SNES has a Gaussian interpolation filter, so it may sound slightly different on the soundfont because it either wasn't properly ripped or because there are no accurate interpolation emulators for FL Studio, Cubase or other music-making software.

Earthbound sampled far more stuff than Undertale has ever done, and it was a AAA title from a big studio. Not only single notes, but entire passages from copyrighted songs.
You could say "stealing" tracks is just another homage to the Mother series, but you don't even have any conclusive evidence, only "guise this timber sound similar, must be stolen". And even if you had, you have no fucking idea of how copyright works. If you don't take a substantial amount of work (and one fucking note isn't), and the vast majority of your work is original (and that's Undertale's case), then it's fair use.
