I'm looking to make a hack to Platinum similar to Emerald Hoenn Dex Edition, where the main things are brining in the missing Sinnoh Dex 'mons from the other two versions, enabling events, and opening up relevant items (TM shop postgame etc.)

Two questions though:
>What's the best/easiest to use map editor and Pokemon editor for evolutions?
>Would anyone happen to know the relevant flags for the event 'mons?

Probably Spiky's for map editor, not sure about Pokemon. PPRE might be it.

I have no clue. Learn how to use the map editor and then go diving in Origin Platinum to find the flags in the modified events maybe. Or just shark it.

Are there no codes for the events in emerald? Mystic ticket, old sea map, ect. I can warp there but I'd rather get the tickets from the guy at the pokecenter.

They require flags to be set along with getting the item. Without taking care of that stray obedience byte Deoxys and Mew use, they won't obey you unless you set said flags when getting them either. An easy way to do this is to just tie these to an item ball containing the item.

You can find a list of flags/specials for Emerald on PC I believe.

I can vouch. It's the most poorly balanced hunk of shit out there. The level spikes are painfully high, the game is balanced around you only training your starter like the edgy kid who made it.

Sequel is really more of the same, except they tried to make a parody ref here and there.

Also the hacker got really mad at people who said it was shit etc. so she learned nothing.

My favorite part is the starter selection. If I remember correctly the starters were Grimer, Articuno, and Porygon2.
It's too bad that the hack creator disappeared. Did he even say anything before he left, or did he just vanish?

This is what I wanted to know. I was in a thread where he was going to stop taking ideas "for now". That was, at the very least, the last thread i ever saw. Clearly he didn't get to it. I'm guessing the amount of ideas overwhelmed him at some point and that he is now hiding among us as a regular anon

Amongst a bunch of scripting there's just a routine that assigns the moves listed a value from 0-9, and then finds a pointer to a table which is an ascending list of Pokémon IDs that can learn the move.

It's undoubtedly more efficient to, like, use the Pokémon data structs directly, but fuck that noise.

FireRed, and a handful: Iron Defense, Knock Off, Hyper Voice, Aqua Tail, Earth Power, Zen Headbutt, Superpower, Drain Punch, Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse. It's basically the X/Y tutor's moves, but with some moves that I haven't ported yet omitted.

You buy them with Blue Shards though because some of them are pretty OP.

Someone on NuzForums made an excellent re-hack of Glazed which added gen 6 mons and moves, rebalanced the level curve and got rid of the OP early TM's. Pretty fun but the problem is that it crashes whenever Taunt is used.
