>>24648842No, I paid more than enough attention. BW2 are great, but if you say they have a story worth mentioning you really should play other games. There is nothing original in BW2 bar that it is a continuation of BW.
The overarching story is still that evil team tries to fuck up things with a legendary pokémon. There's some special characters (Colress, Zinzolin) in the team, but it all boils down to Ghetsis ambition of being a dictator. I wonder where we've seen that before. It's not like certain evil teams have used legendaries to fulfill their vision. Oh wait, that happened in RSE, DPPt and BW! What a shocking twist!
Add on a rival. This time the rival has some interest in the evil team (at least they gave him some motivation, I'll give them that), but other than that his progression is fairly similar. Wanting to be strong, but your character is there to show that there's a "different" way of being strong (DPPt, BW, GSC/HGSS)
The plot follows a very predictable development. Evil team has some shenanigans in the early game (RSE, DPPt, BW), builds on that while you travel the region getting badges. Have a "minor" confrontation (Game Corner, Mahogany, Aqua/Magma base, Galactic headquarters, Dragonspiral Tower) before the major confrontation that includes a confrontation with the legendary and the evil team's leader. This happens typically after 7 badges (GSC, RSE, DPPt). Do the league and we're done.
Add on leaders being static and not active like you'd expect them to be and you've got a typical pokémon game. There's a few deviations here and there, but the general structure is similar from game to game, and BW2's plot offers little in this regard.
Maybe you should pay some attention the next time?
