My friend has not played a pokemon game since gen 2. He has not played a pokemon game in over a decade. He owns a GBA, DS, and 3DS. What game should I recommend he start with?

I think HGSS would be the best place to start him off at, then BW2 and then Z/XY2 when they're released.

If he liked Gen 2, he should probably start with HGSS then Platinum or BW to BW2.
