>>24654421Also adding on to this, a big problem with ORAS was that it was a game they pushed out the door in a year just so they could start it on the anniversary of RS and release it on the anniversary of RS. If they made the usual gap year 2014 instead of 2015 I think things would be a lot better. At the time ORAS was announced everyone was really surprised, partly because we were expecting Z or XY sequels but also because it was not that long after XY, I don't recall people begging for an announcement around the time. But now we're mid-gen, and unless you count Gen 5 with only two sets of games in the generation, every generation had the gap year after the first set of games were released. So right now we had momentum going for whatever the next game is but instead there's a gap at a slightly inconvenient time, and with the 20th anniversary being when RBY are coming on the virtual console my theory on when Z would be out has basically been debunked, so I have no idea what they plan on doing.
>>24654471Pretty much this. There isn't a whole lot objectively bad and as a remake it's great for nostalgia. But when you look at the lack of effort in the games it doesn't bode well for the future. Even the CoroCoro news at the time was rarely "look at this RS remake", it was "look at this mega expansion pack that takes place in Hoenn". Ridiculous.
