I don't think the Noctowl or Golduck ones are stupid. It's their Pokedex entries plus the anime that caused people to think that. Especially when the first form of Golduck is called PSYduck, and Hoothoot looks like a little like a Psychic-type.

I thought for a very long time that Grass resisted Fighting.
Tangela was the only pure Grass type in Gen 1, the others were almost all Grass/Poison or Grass/Psychic and thus resisted Fighting because of their second typing. I seldom used Fighting moves on pure grass types in future generations, so I never realised that Grass doesn't resist until a few years ago.

I thought using Fire type moves on fire type Pokemon in team battles would fuel them and make them stronger
I thought that once a Fire type got to a high level water moves would evaporate and turn to steam around them
I thought that using beam moves in team battle would make them combine, like using Flamethrower and Thunderbolt would create an electric stream of fire that would whip lightning and pop flames off when it hit Pokemon
I thought that not using certain pokemon would make them weak in battle, so I put level 36 Pokes against the E4 and thought I lost because I didn't love my Pokemon enough
I thought I could telepathically talk to my Pokemon and encourage them in battle, so I would think things like "You can do it Umbreon, we just need one more hit you can make it."
I thought Brock was black
I thought all of the things in the anime could happen in the game
I thought that if you used Water Gun on Onix with Squirtle and then switched to Pikachu Thundershock would be super effective
I thought Pinken Berries were in a secret island in the games
The anime really fucked me over
I also thought Pokemon didn't poop because I never saw their buttholes

My brother also had a big infobook during gen1 that said evolutionary stones let a pokemon evolve -faster- implying you could use thunderstone on Electrode or magnemite etc

During my very first playthrough I thought that stat lowering had permanent effect, even outside of battle. Got really mad each time wild Rattata lvl 4 used Tail Whip and ruined my mons.
