if someone wants to feed their autism and just fuck around with pokemon the design of which their like, they are fucked if they go online with it because of people with actual competitive teams and children with ubers
it's difficult to solve for cartridge games because taking it one way or another would require the creation of arbitrary limiations
currently the choice for players who want to use their (weak) favorites and still win is to either adapt their teams to incorporate pokemon that don't suck and shit or give up and play with friends only/use smogon's tiered system/continue losing
