>>24689089Ack, sorry about that, I forgot that some people might not have the game yet (and Euros can't unless they import etc etc etc).
I do like the characters, but I don't exactly feel... well pun unintended, but I don't feel tremendously connected with them. Like, they're fun characters with fun dialogue, but there's not a whole lot of nuance to them, compared to Explorers. Not a lot of rounding-out or anything. The partner is a lot of fun, and his personality is distinct from the other partners, but even though I'm past the point where we become friends, I still don't empathize with him all too strongly. Or any of the other school kids or villagers, really. They're nice, I feel like I've gotten acquainted with them, but not really friends.
If I had to guess, I think if the game was entirely set around Serene Village and the school only, then they'd probably have more time to really flesh the characters out and make me care about them. However, since we have to leave for the Guild and Lively Town at some point, they don't have the time to flesh the schoolkids out enough.
Or maybe it's my frustration with still being stuck in Tutorial Village that's messing with my head, like I mentioned. Make of it what you will.
