When it comes to bad stories or movies or whatever that are, like, riffing material, it's easy for me to just turn my brain off and take snipes at it, but with something like this, it's hard for me to willingly suspend my disbelief enough to not think about it.
I really wish the game would have put more effort into actually trying to fit the games together. And not even in the way of "let's tie all the previous stories together", I mean just minor or subtle stuff. Like when Mawile mentioned being an archaeologist/historian, I figured that there might be references or explanations in the library, but there's really just nothing there.
Like, if you took the cameos out of the game, then Super would be just as standalone as the rest of the games, and considering how it's obviously wanting to tie everything together, it feels... wrong.
