If you have the time, I hope you can spare a few moments to hear my last words to an old friend. Since 1999, when I was only in the first grade, you have always been my best friend. From the moment we met, I knew you would be special to me, and the more time I spent with you, the closer we became. When we were together it didn't matter what others thought, or where we were, as long as we were together. You know, I actually had to choose between you and two others. Many people chose Charmander; lots picked Squirtle. But I chose you. It was something in your eyes. Squirtle and Charmander were both strong, but you intrigued me. I could tell that you would always give your best effort, and I could tell you wanted nothing more than to join me. You were always the underdog, always the last pick, but I saw something in you that no one else did. I suppose I saw a bit of myself in you. I wanted to give you the chance to be great. At first I raised you foolishly, and I remember how badly I felt the first time you lost in battle.
