Is there a way to even play Pokemon on PC without a problem after GBA?

Emulator on PC has a shitload of problems and despite following guides FPS is at 50% for games like pokemon

Is it better to just buy the fucking cartridge for my N3DS? I just want a good 2D pokeymon and I liked crystal and so far heard the 3DS games run slow as fuck on top of being "new" style

I never played anything after Emerald btw
