>>24725177Honestly? Yeah, I think so.
Here are some pros and cons I've noticed as I completed the main game:
Pros:
-The music is 10/10, especially near the end game. In comparison, I give Sky's music a 6/10.
-Fuckton of content. Took me 21 hours to beat the main game, and I'm at 30 hours with a lot left of content.
-Gameplay is the best in the series, imho. I can't go into all of it without turning this into a tldr, but seriously, trust me and everyone else saying this.
-More likable characters than in Sky.
-TWWWIIISSSSTTTSS
-It's probably the most difficult Pokemon game we've gotten thus far.
Cons:
-Story pacing is odd at best. Spends more time on less important things and speeds up at later parts where everything is coming together. I personally enjoyed how everything went from 0-100 so fast because I liked sharing the characters' confusion, but it's still flawed writing.
-A lot of laziness when it comes to details. Others mentioned it in the thread in more detail. One thing that wasn't mentioned in this thread was the art style. It's a comparatively lazy style to Sky. It's just another 3D game. I don't remember any really beautiful places except
the entirety of The Tree of Life.-Many characters are forgotten almost completely once the story picks up.
-Pokemon are less unique to you. You can't nickname anyone outside you and your partner, IQ has been removed, you can't pick your player's gender, and you can't recruit any wild Pokemon you want like in other PMD games. This was honestly my biggest gripe.
-Much less a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and more like a Mystery Dungeon featuring Pokemon. I don't mind this at all, but I know many people do and I understand why.
All in all, I like this game a lot. Probably more than Sky. Despite its flaws, I think it's a very solid game that tried a ton of new things. Some of the new things worked, others did not. But to answer your question: get a fucking job and get both games.
