Because GF doesn't like fixing old things, they just leave it to rot.

Golem was a beast in gen 1 when normal types were strong, electric types didn't have Hidden Power and Explosion could OHKO anything that didn't resist.

Maybe pokemon needs a reboot. All those 20yo relics being completely useless is depressing to see.

Give it Head Smash and bring back Sucker Punch move tutor.

You can run it Banded/LO in Trick Room or if you have something that won't one shot you in front, use Rock Polish and start spamming Head Smash. Rock Slide as an option because Doubles.
