>>24746915You're doing math that doesn't correspond to the game itself. Due to egg groups, not every pokemon can breed with every other pokemon. If we're going the realistic route with this and saying that you can only cross two pokemon then that number becomes significantly reduced. Then you have to take into account pokemon that *can't* breed, like babies, genderless and legends, and you end up with something that would be really managable.
I personally think it'd be a great idea for the next generation. Now that we've moved into 3D models for pokemon, it would be easy enough to have small features that change as well as alternate color/texture palettes to reflect mixed breeding. Cross a female Serperior with a male Venusaur and you wind up with a spotted Serperior that has Venusaur flowers on it and a similar color palette to Venusaur. Swap the genders and you get a Venusaur with Serperior traits, etc. They *could* offer the potential to add/change a secondary type of a pokemon based on the parents, but that could get messy real fast, though FUN. I think a more realistic expectation would be a potential egg move that can't normally be learned by the base Pokemon. It could make for fun customization, plus new strategies by giving pokemon new egg moves. It's entirely doable, but unless Gamefreak pull their heads out of their asses and realize that they need to do *something* to spice up the franchise then it's not gonna happen.
