Everything deals LESS damage. Part of the damage calculation formula is a flat +(level) points of damage equal to the attacker's level but not the defender's. So the higher the level of the two pokemon the more damage being dealt exponentially increases.

Being level 50 sometimes means you can use less EVs to hit certain stats. For example if you need 176 in HP at level 100 for a Leftovers number you might be able to get by with only 172 or even 168 instead which frees up 4-8 EVs for another stat. 252 still produces the maximum stats just like at level 100 though.

It doesn't seem like much but if you jew a stat or two to add an extra point elsewhere it could win you the match. Or you could go full autist/jap mode and find out the precise EVs required to make a weird spread for specific threats while not losing much if any power.
