Which ones specifically? It's difficult to make specific guides due to the random nature of the games but proper item usage is very important. Don't be afraid to use wands or orbs for instance.

Not really. The best you can do is glance at Serebii's listed dungeons and strategize around typing disadvantages.

Wands and alliance attacks also help you out of sticky situations.

Items I can work with, but are there any recommended pokemon to work with yet? That one fucking area with 1 team member reduced to lv. 5 with no items and 'mons that hit 80+ by floor 10+ is driving me nuts.

1. use Water Looplet, your item is uncatchable since it pierces.
2. throw some random item they can't use (orbs or whatever), let them catch it, then throw your ammo.

Mainly the inability to restore HP naturally under sandstorm, as well as the spD boost. I'd assume weather related abilities are only preventing if the Pokemon having the ability actually holds it.

For Sandshrew/Sandslash you have to take a letter to Sandslash for Sandshrew. You'll connect with both

Bisharp is a reward for reaching one of the early ranks. I think it's Bronze or Normal. For Pawniard I think you have to connect with Bagon then do a mission for it or it might be an 'And...' connection.

Scyther is a gift when you reach Diamond rank. Or it was a travel mon, I can't remember for sure but I think it was a rank gift.

I don't know about Shiftry or Toxicroak. I don't think I have either of them yet

I just recently finished a 40 floor dungeon and it was definitely more difficult than heart lake. You're going to need a lot of apples to finish this dungeon since every floor is so expansive.

Has anyone beaten this? This dungeon has given me the most trouble out of everything else in the game.
Have been trying to use Unburden Drifblim but still get wrecked around floor 15. Is there some strategy/Pokemon that's more ideal for this sort of endeavor?

It's rumored that if you a shop's services long enough, the owner will likely join sooner, but I've barely used Meowth and he joined as soon as I talked to him for the second time, so I call BS on that.

Yeah, there's some weird requirements for the shopkeepers that aren't really told up front. You need at least one treasure for Cofagrigus. Hawlucha, Klefki, and Meowth seem to join at random. I know Kecleon demands an extremely high Species count before joining, but I don't know the exact amount needed.

What is it about Super that makes it harder than the original PMD? I haven't played since that one but the dungeons in Super at first disappointed me because of their average length but as I played more in just a simple 10-15 floor can be so brutal it makes me not want to touch the 20+ ones with a ten foot pole.

Break system is ass. You could be 40+ levels above someone and they'll be on indefinite break just because fuck you. This isn't just some shitty troll either, I'm 68 and my level 28 scizor stays on break for 2+ times after one mission.

I think the enemies are just stronger. I don't think you ever had to worry about so many Pokemon that could just casually OHKO or 2HKO you, while taking three or four of your attacks to kill.

Difficult isn't the word to describe this game. "Unforgiving" is a better word. If you know what you're doing, you'll breeze through it. But if you expect it to play just like the previous entries you're going to be in for a rude awakening by the time you reach Poliwrath River or battle Salamence.

The hunger meter depletes faster, can't use the A attack so need to depend on moves with decent PP and damage. Enemies take more hits and do more damage. Partner AI isn't the best. speed = accuracy so if you're not a fast mon you're fucked until vitamins. Accuracy is piss poor even with good enough speed. More traps (in my experience). There are more, just can't think of them now.

In case it wasn't already common knowledge, the purple Sparkling Floors that are sometimes spawned when a Mega kills something with its basic attack aren't like the normal Sparkling Floors. Instead of a Gold Bar or other rare item, it'll contain common loot like emeras and Poké.

Side note, with how things are right now, there might be visual bugs where the Pokemon will *appear* to phase through walls (because the sprite isn't following the actual path of movement, it just slides into place, which works fine when enemy AI are moving only 1 tile a turn), not sure it matters that much since they move so fast

Clocks start at 0, and then the speed buff/debuff amount is added. If the clock is higher than 0, enemy takes movements until the clock reaches 0. If the clock is less than 0, 1 is added on every player movement until it is 0, and then the enemy can move a tile.

Once the clock is 0, the process is reset the next time the player moves.

Speed buff/debuff wearing off is done right at the end of a turn.

This sound about right to everyone? I think this would work just like the actual games.

Okay, can we be honest for a second?

This story is fun but really weak, especially compared to Explorers or PKMD1. Dont get me wtong, I love me some Persona Hearts. I can get behind DARKNESS as plot elements if done right but this was kind of stupid. Even the story bullshit in other pkmd games were kept to a minimum.

Also the story finale dungeon is 10 floor long? What does this game think I am? Casual? That's practically a light jog.

Also, half the game was you in school. Then suddenly you get dark matter trusted on you and the story quickly concludes itself.
That's like if Harry Potter took half the book to have anything magical happen. That's not good pacing.

That being said the first part of the game was fun. But they kind of rushed through the "real" story.

Also I guess I haven't gone through the epilogue so my view on the game may change.

Anyone out there, what's the epilogue like?

Oh shit! It just occurred to me that the Satiated Looplet+Ghost type Pokemom=infinite wall phasing. Been farming rainbow TM's left and right from poor Kecleon by phasing straight to the stairs and/or waiting for his crew to leave the room then just waltz off with the merchandise.
You could easily exploit this to get to Arceus too, since you wouldn't have to worry about hunger, enemies, or PP management, just phase your happy ass to the stairs.

Am I playing this game wrong? It seems like this game simply doesn't allow you to level up before forcing you into continuing in the story, and now I keep fainting in these fucking dungeons because I can't just go out and explore dungeons.
In the older games, I was able to explore the WHOLE dungeon, but now I have to run to the stairs.
Also hate that the 'plain' hitting move is stuck at doing 5 hp damage.

Because all the pokemon are too strong, I have to just get to the stairs of the floor as soon as I can to just get through the dungeon. It's just like playing Animal Crossing where you build your village or whatever and then all of a sudden MEGA RESETTI shows up to wreck your shit or something. i've no idea how many times you can speed up yourself so i'm assuming a max of quadruple movement speed.
get a clock/tick that counts up.
one tick counts as one turn, or movement, i say.
if there's speed buff, allow movement whenever tick count is divisible by 12/[speed buff].
if there's speed debuff, allow movement whenever tick count is divisible by 12*[speed debuff+1], so 1 speed debuff = takes 2 normal turn to move.
if tick count isn't divisible by anyone's "internal clock" then nothing happens.
things happen in the dungeon only on tick counts that is a multiple of 12 (or something like that, depending on how many turns it takes for the effect to kick in)

may need to figure out how doing anything that is not moving affect this, since IIRC speed buffs only allow you to move faster, not act multiple times. i might be wrong though, can't remember for sure.

if you're saying that because MUH STORY, I just wanted some explanation on the stupid final boss that is mentioned for only a small portion of the game. If it was Yveltal by himself that would be fine since he turned fuckers to stone in the Diance movie but this thing just showed up and has no place in a pokemon game. Supposedly the antagonist thing in gates is the same way but I wouldn't know since I avoided it.

Good point, I'm just used to the older ones. I haven't played one since Explorers of Sky. They made a lot of shitty design choices in this one.

I wish the game had a little more info about what a dungeon contains. So many seem to have unique features/Pokemon but I can never remember them all.

I also ran into "THE LEGENDARY HEATRAN" who prompt lane ran the fuck off after I blasted him once and I never caught him. What was that all about?

Thanks for the max elixir. Well, the game gives you very little opportunity to grind up your starters. You're better off grinding for resources on Pelipper Island, over there you can use all your mons without any limit. Essential resources like wands, orbs, reviver seeds.

If you don't have an Air Looplet... Don't bother. Berserk status will burn through Reviver Seeds like crazy.

Also, for Charizard and Mewtwo, its random.

You may end up with Mega Mewtwo X instead.

Various random seeds, including both regular and tiny variants of Reviver Seeds.

Not sure if it gives things like Joy Seeds though. I know I've gotten a few Pure Seeds out of it.

My first and currently only rainbow tm is Dazzling Gleam. I'd rather have a rainbow Shadow Ball cause at least it has better distribution and I have more connections that get STAB with it

It's actually not that hard. Heart Lake basically drowns you in regular/big Apples and Elixers, so you're in no short supply when you make a trip there. The Pokemon there aren't particularly powerful, but it's better to be overprepared then unready.

10 gold bars and I'm pretty sure you just have to connect with Cofagrigus to unlock the treasure shop so if you have too much trouble with the treasure dungeons just talk to it every day until it connects
