There, now ice types went from "only one resistance" to "combination of three of the game's best resists that up until this point were only simultaneously resisted by rotom and bronzong".

The key is to not go overboard. Flying and ground are so important as attacking types that just those two resists would be enough. Still, better freeze dry distribution would be nice.

Grass doesn't need more resistances, fairy does need a nerf and ice having a fairy AND ground resist would be absolutely perfect.

On the other hand, you could give grass the fairy resist, buffing grass and nerfing fairy all at once

Yeah, but flying has Gale Wings and Aerilate, and half the dragons carry flying moves. With this you can at least balance Salamence a bit. It at least makes sense since Ice hits flying SE.

Water's fine as it is right now because nothing overly broken uses water right now. It's mostly scald defensive spam or STAB from something like Keldeo, and the former should be fixed by fixing scald whereas the latter doesn't really need a nerf compared to everything else.

Okay, fine...

Fairy merely resists Dragon. But Dragon resists Fairy.

So Fairy keeps its purpose sort of, but as a defensive check to Dragons rather than offensive like Ice.

Ice is an offensive type.
To be fair, Ice/ Ground STAB covers a lot of mons.
It's not as bad as Rock, at least.

Rock offensive is better handled than Ice offensive since there are actual Rock Pokemon who can use rock moves and aren't complete wastes of space compared to Water types filling in for ice.

Vaporeon and Milotic do 90% of ice Pokemons' jobs better than them.

I agree, that maybe Fairy should only resist Dragon, but there's no way Dragon should resist Fairy. That's like saying Steel resist Poison and Poison resist Steel.

Though from my experience in competitive, Thick Fat Mamo is a lot bulkier than you'd expect, and is a good 3HKO in a lot of cases. I found myself cutting out the stealth rocks, strapping an assault vest on him, and go full HP and Attack and just crush things into the ground.

the balance comes from Ice's god tier offensive output, with 4x effectiveness on the game's most objectively good mons, your Garchomp's, your Lando-T's, and so on.

also, choice band Weavile is CASH.

Here's the biggest problem. Ice hits tons of relevant pokemon, including stuff like garchomp and gliscor, for super effective (usually 4x) damage. But it's resisted by water and steel, super relevant defensive types. Ironically this makes ice a much better type for coverage moves and not a great STAB type.

Just increase the distribution of Freeze Dry to Ice Types, give more pokemon Snow Warning, make Hail buff Ice types defensively or give them auto-heal like Leftovers, and give Ice resistances to Flying and Grass.

Bam, mono-ice is now a thing. Although you would still have the issue of a lot of ice mons simply sucking balls.

Don't get me wrong, Weavile IS a better choice about 70% of the times, Mamo is still a good pokemon. Still using it sometimes.

The problem is that Ice has absolute garbage flavor in addition to awful resistances. Psychic is even worse on paper, but it redeemed by having cool moves and abilities and usable Pokemon.

It could really use another resistance though. Fags clamoring for four resistances may as well ask for every type of to have the same number of everything, giving them all no personality or flair. But really, a Flying type resist would be quite welcome and not all that silly (cold creatures resisting wind).
