Everyone knows that a new mainline game on the 3DS with 3D graphics, actual postgame and extra content, like new megas and releasing Volcanion/Eternal Floette etc, which is everyone's hope for Z, would blow Smash out of the water. At least for serious Pokemon fans, and hey, this IS a Pokemon board.
Instead we get these little things. Not bad, exactly, but our hopes keep getting demolished.
One can only pray they're working extra hard on Z to make it worthwhile.
But there's also the shadow in everyone's mind, a grim realization that 'Z' may simply be a rerelease of X/Y with Zygarde instead of Edge Birb or Rainbow Deer and ORAS megas.
