>>24803536It's what they used in GameStop distributions. They were supposed to be returned after the distro is over, but people always stole them. I think that's partially why they haven't had distro carts since Gen V.
Basically you just set a DS to a date in the range that the distribution happened, and you can use it to send the Pokemon to your game in another DS through Mystery Gift.
