Digimon has no consistency, every single game is some weird experiment where all of it is just shit and they should have just built upon the first PS1 game instead.

Digimon World Re:Digitize and Next Order are exactly that though. Then the Story series which started with.. well, Story and has gone through to Cyber Sleuth has also remained consistent.

The only thing I think is stupid is calling Worlds 2, 3 and 4/X "World". Should have differentiated them somehow the same way they do the World and Story series.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is coming over on PS4/Vita and if it sells well enough we could have the same thing happen with Next Order too. Re:Digitize was PSP/3DS so I'm afraid it's a lost cause by now.

I didn't mind Omnimon until Alphamon came into the picture. Then it made more sense to call him Omegamon.

Right now I'm watching the anime subbed, so it makes sense to call him Satoshi, as opposed to Ash.

This is entirely why I like Digimon. Game quality aside, I like that a single franchise can do so many different things while still being Digimon. I like that sometimes we have an anime like Adventure and others we have one like Frontier, I like the diverse ways you can implement Digimon into video games, I'd hate it if we only got the same.

Though I do agree a single World masterseries or something would have been better, but in the end it was just a glorified V-Pet.
