I tried to like it. I really did. But it's just bad. Not Diamond/Pearl bad, but close. The nostalgia just wasn't enough to carry it.

Don't confuse D/P with Platinum. D/P were shit. Platinum was one of the best games of the series, because it fixed a massive number of problems that D/P had. But D/P were and are still shit.

Difficult single-player battles. That's what we want. Competitive facilities give an actual lofty goal to reach for in these piss-easy games other than climbing an online ladder. Postgame is the only chance we get to flex our decade or more of Pokémon experience and really battle, you get me?
