you know where i can pick up maybe something post physical/special split?
i have AS on 3DS but as always theres no alternate save and i have a finished pokedex and a lot of shinies so starting over feels a little unpleasant

Torterra is probably my favorite final evolution but Piplup for the beginning form (not a fan of the mid stage of any of them though)

and a definite blind run, i don't know much about this gen at all (i was super into gens 1 and 2 and essentially only played the remakes from 3 before going quiet until 6 with AS as a nostalgia trip)

i didn't even know there was a physical special or that EVs and IVs existed until i got super deep into IV breeding in 6, spent a lot of time breeding shinies and 6IV mons

the Tab button really makes this better like the speed options back on VBA

I still load up my old GBC and mess around with Red and Blue from time to time, but most of the time it's just nostalgia tripping

Yeah, a couple of months ago the Nuzlocke Generals could sustain themselves, but now they die fast. I guess people lots interest slowly.

By the way, try to not overlevel your mons that much. The only threat comes after leaving Jubilife by east, since that's the way to the first gym.

Tip. Don't leave Jubilife City unhealed. You will regret it.

I forgot the first route is usually counted as an area where you can capture mons too. There will be four in the end before leaving Jubilife, so that's nice.

The issue with the evolutions can be fixed easily. If you want I can guide you with the steps to do it, but you will need an external program for that.

First you will need this, which is used regularly to randomizer the game and just in general modify it a bit: http://pokehacks.dabomstew.com/randomizer/downloads.php

Of course, before doing anything with the game, you will need to save. Don't want to lose your shit by doing a mistake.

The program it's pretty easy to use.

>open ROM, chose the rom you are using
>check "Change Impossible Evos"
>randomize (save) (name it as the rom you are currently using, but don't save it where you have the rom itself).
>click no
>click done

Since you this is your first run with the game I doubt you would want to modify anything else. Now, this doesn't mean you get the mons to evolve as soon as they evolve to their second form. I think you get Alakazam around level 40, I will check later.

Also, you will need to start using the modified ROM. Since it has the same name, the save should work with it.

And to open .jar files you need java. I suppose you don't have it installed. That's the only problem with the randomizer, it needs java to be opened. Unless you know of a way to open it without java, then I can't help.

On the subject of not using java, I didn't found anything that isn't a bit complex.

As a last gamble, you could say to me from where you downloaded the rom and I can do it for you, then upload it to mega. There's the trust issue there but that's up to you. Maybe it isn't that bad for you to just play it with Kadabra.

Remember that it needs to have the same name of the original rom you played with, in case you changed it. If not, then there's nothing to change, just playing the new rom.

Yes, just load it up like you did before. Nothing changes, just the rom you are going to use now.

Since it has the same name as the other rom, it should identify the game as the same and allow you to play with the save.

Team Galactic talk in a very redundant way but are pretty okay to battle
Standard "these guys are unforgivable" motif
Pretty fun gameplay so far and i'm enjoying the enviroments
Also i should note that this is nuzlocke and to stop making stupid arrogant decisions in battle for fun (almost killed Ponyta off like 4 times while betting on luck)
will be back for more after some Dark Souls

Yeah, might as well try it when you are free for a long time. Or change the time on your computer. I'm not sure if it really works, but you can try changing it (would work better with 7 hours), going back into the area and checking.

It may require two tries because of the chances of the mons not appearing at all.

Of course when you are done, change the time back.

Eterna forest with the help of Cheryl is pretty good for leveling up quickly; going to Eterna City with your mons at level ~20 is not a bad idea, but it isn't necessary either.

It was a very messy fight
Gastly was what i was thinking of next, and as for countering Ghosts i do have Kadabra but being at risk of getting blown up is something i'm a bit afraid of too

Since it's a low level, the forest is probably a good option. Did you capture the Gastly in the mansion inside? That may help too (well, when it gets a good ghost attack).

So, Ponyta would be the best option there. Kadabra will be helpful too if the opponent has a ghost/poison mon. Your team seems good to go in general.

I went back to it tonight and realized that Hypno could use dark void and drain punch on most of the mons. I really did not expect to make it past two mons.

Nah things have been pretty close for Psyduck and Ponyta again, went down to 2hp from a Rollout

Haunter and Kadabra are about level 30 each and i just picked up the Exp. Share so i can keep the lower ones in time

Just remember to have enough healing items and to think it through. Frenchie is not an easy gym either.

Should train to his level. Later on you could make a case of giving yourself a harder time 2 or 3 levels less. At this point it's kinda necessary, I would think.

Try to grind more with Cinarius and Ardevari. Else they will always stay low leveled and when you most need them, they are not going to be fully trainerd which will end up destroying your team.

You went down and there was a thin route with trainers right? If my memory doesn't fail me, you have to keep going down until you get to another city. Then through the beach and bam, fifth gym in Pastoria.

i'm in pastoria now, just smashed the clown guy in the pokemon center with a 1hp Smiles by running a Shadow Punch
I am a man of too many risks, i'm about to try and catch something on 213 as i made it through the bushes without any trouble before
Hoping for a Rock type, i have too many psychics laying around

The dark times has befallen me, using her to fight a Stunky in place of Kadabra and Haunter for a bit and it gets a critical Slash off, she never stood a chance.

Otherwise, Ponyta is not bad. And the next gym is steel type, so you would benefit a lot from it.

I was finding this Emerald nuzlocke to be pretty easy. Then I went to train my newly caught Machop who went on to die from a Spinda with a psybeam. Then some guy with three koffings proceeded to use selfdestruct and got my Kadabra killed. And I still hadn't learnt my lesson. I fought my numel having only 26 hp thinking it could survive the next hit but it missed its attack and died.

I still expected Flannery to be easy as Marshtomp was water/ground. And she was at first. But fucking hell is attract a shit move. I couldn't do anything for so many moves because Marshtomp was "immobilised by love". And I didn't realise her Torkoal would be like five levels higher than my 'mons. Almost killed Marshtomp with sunny day powered overheat. I'm lucky I had stocked up on a bunch of root herbs before going into the gym and didn't end up suffering any casualties there.

I'm now training before I head off to fight Norman. From what I remember playing Ruby years ago he was one of the toughest gym leaders I fought. This is my current team. I'm using Spindle for HMs and not actual battling.
