Also, I finally got to roughly translate most of the dialogue between Mamizou and the gatekeeper/farmer/guy.

Gatekeeper (1st line to Mamizou. 2nd line to no one in particular):

Is that the Marisa that the real Marisa fights you with?

I assumed you made a starter Marisa who had 14 speed from an S IV which I said wouldn't match up with what the Marisa you fight would have, but if that's actually the one you fight with the A ranks then yeah you're right on the money.

Huh, didn't know you even got a chance to ever view its stats, but now that I think of it I forgot you can just view it in the battle.

There's still one more flaw with that though: The one in your picture has a speed emblem on it, which it may not always have. And there's also no guarantee that it's the same exact puppet that she actually uses, but it seems extremely likely that it is.

I'm going to go check to see if she always has that emblem, and if not then what she's at without it.

Tried it 3 times, speed emblem every time. Looks like it's guaranteed unless we really did roll a 1 in 5 chance 4 times in a row.

Seems like the dream fragment might actually be a 30% boost to speed and both attack types. That's nuts.

Changing gears. For those not up to date: there's been a notable addition to the upcoming expansion.

Your chosen starter has a special heart symbol, and this allows it to make use of a special item that an anon in the previous thread ( >>24858608 ) confirmed has the effect of raising FoAtt, SpAtt, and Speed by 20%-30%.

In my mind at least this appears to be a clever analog to megas, sans the stupidity. Your favorite and your opponent's favorite will simply get a non-trivial boost in fights. Let the waifu wars commence.

You got all the confirmed info but I'd like to add my own speculation to that as well: This is just a guess, but I feel like the stats it boosts are going to change based on your style.

The description of the item itself is extremely open-ended and vague which is a weird decision if it is nothing more than just the attack and speed boost, not to mention that it'd be very underwhelming on defensive / support units which goes against the concept of it seeming to be to ensure that any starter you pick ends up being viable throughout the game.

I would really like to see it switch over to boosting defenses and health for defense style or health and attacks for power etc etc, but this is again just a guess and right now it's 100% offensive-based.

Yeah, that's what I speculated in my first post, the one you replied to was an addition to it.

Normal gets +attack +speed which makes more sense on speed.

I'd figure it'd go something like: Defense gets +HP +defense, power gets +HP +attacks, speed is +attack +speed, assist is a lesser boost to all stats and extra is ????

Maybe a bigger boost to all stats than assist? I dunno.

It can only be used on your starter to begin with, with potentially some means of allowing it to be used on other puppets eventually as well but that's no guarantee.

I'm pretty sure you can earn the heart mark on other puppets. The transfer infosheet just says that puppets with the "met in a special encounter" description or whatever it was have it from the very start. You need it for the white dress costume, and I doubt you'll only ever be able to see that on 1-2 puppets.

The Wakasagihime in the transfer image lost her item, so unless he happened to remove it before he took the screenshot, I don't think so.

She also gained 150000 EXP, so either she gained some weight or the leveling curve has changed overall.

Not Touhoumon but figure it's a good place to ask, sometimes when watching videos of the PC-98 games I only learned today that Alice stops shooting some of her bullets if you don't fire at her shield, holy fuck how did I not figure this out I'm an idiot, and the sound quality is a ton higher than in my game. Doing everyone in post game, with Suwako being one of the first gave me enough XP to do at least Yuki, that should help you out. Start out with the ones that use SuikaP, it's gimmicky, but you can just alternate barrier option and a boosting move and easily wreck anyone who uses her.

Reimu's actually got a diverse and competent team where the Remi fight is pretty much either it's literally impossible if you don't have the right tools / levels or it's a complete joke if you do.

If you're underleveled / have shit team diversity it's not hard for the Remi puppet to just instantly gib anyone that comes in and you never even get a chance to fight back, but anything that can survive a hit or go faster than her is likely going to oneshot her.

It shouldn't, no. Crit rate stays the same and no bonus damage from charge unless it has another effect that gets negated.

That's how sheer force works in Pokemon anyways and charge should be a direct copy of it.

Yes, no.

Speed style doesn't always directly translate into more speed and more speed doesn't always mean it's better.

EG: AyaP is faster than UtsuhoS and UtsuhoS is better (Or at least used more).

Speed is still often an extremely important stat, especially when the meta of the game is generally just "Kill them before they kill you" right now, but there are many situations where having something that doesn't die in one hit is what you need to get a kill instead of just being faster than them and likewise you'll need a slow but heavy hitter to deal with their tankier units and so on and so forth.

The frog goes speed, Ojou-sama goes power in terms of what's objectively best in a vacuum, but sometimes you gotta make some sub-optimal decisions to round out your team if you're using favorites.

Assist Renko actually just adds +3 to the duration of Terrain skills, including Genbu/Trick Room, Suzaku, Seiryuu, and Byakko.

Speed Renko makes Weather (Fog, Aurora, Sandstorm, Calm) permanent.

How do you people manage dark puppets? They're weak as shit to many types and often partnered with another element which makes them weaker to more types. I really love my KagerouP but she's fucking made out of paper and is just weight to team.

There's not really any managing to be done, I think there might not even be any dark puppets in the top 50 on the JP usage chart and if there are it's very limited and they're not unique in what they do.

It's not so abysmal as to stop me from using my favorites that have it on them though, Remi is still pretty solid.

Don't stack them unless you're going to be running Fog (either via Phlegmatic w/weather item or Speed Renko) and hazard clear, and make sure to cover for them both offensively (they go well with Illusion-killers) and defensively (Steel and Fighting resists are a must, as is hazard clear). Darkspam is absolutely viable in multiplayer; weather-boosting U-Turn is ridiculous and Twilight Infection hits like twenty tanks; but like most dedicated archetypes you need to think carefully about how you go about building it. Avoid puppets with 4x Steel weaknesses unless you're serious about using them and keeping SR off the field.

Assuming you're talking competitive anyway. Darks seem to be perfectly fine in-game.

While I like Steel, I also kinda hate it. The new buff to Stealthy Steel hurts too. Anything with 4x steel weakness could basically be completely boned because they have to deal with an entry hazard that demolishes them and common priority.

Economist is almost certainly 50% outside of Calm, just like how Harvest is 50% outside of Sun.

Calm itself is indeed the Hail of this game by my understanding; the only legitimate uses I've seen are allowing Economist to be really silly and setting up that Koishi form to be a behemoth.

None of the mons with x2 speed abilities look very stellar to me: Fog's only option has no Dark moves, all of the Aurora options have severe coverage issues, and Sand has just SKonngara (who actually looks okay) and SShou (who has coverage issues and wants Magic Guard). Fog does seem quite potent if you just want to beat the crap out of things though; boosted Twilight Infection off stuff the likes Speed Elis and Speed Sariel is extremely hard to deal with, and pretty much all of its users can just throw out weather-boosted STAB Changeling to come back when the resist is chipped down. Not sure how Aurora's supposed to work but there's a million Arclight users out there to choose from and actual Chlorophyll mons to clean with.

And because I somehow glossed over the questions with objective answers: Sand is still probably good but is probably not as useful since there's no Tyranitar and it doesn't give any SDef boosts. Weather durations work exactly as in Gen 6 except that any manual weather set by Speed Renko is perma-weather. Weather's not entirely relevant in-game (there is some Aurora on enemies but not much), and it's looking fairly relevant if you ask for netplay battles on IRC and certain others or I happen to be around.

Worth noting that with just 1 point of speed investment and a non-green mark you outspeed everything up to and including AyaP after a Mad Rush Stance (at level 50 a full investment and green mark AyaP is 200 speed; before Mad Rush stance with just 2 EVs and no green mark WriggleP is 101 speed at level 50). She also gets St. Elmo's Fire to make Fighting types think twice about switching into her to stop a sweep.

Weak to Fighting, Fire, and double-weak to Steel. St. Elmo's Fire can cover the Fighting types, Dark hits Fire for neutral at least, and while you can use Break Shot over St Elmo's Fire to handle Steel types, it's not really recommended since SukunaD will give 0 shits about it even with her double fighting weakness.

Basically she's usable but keep her the fuck away from Sukuna.

Basically, Sound is going to be amazing with the wind types that were it's biggest weakness being pushed away by Chaos, a huge rise in things weak to it (Fighting is weak, Chaos is weak, and any remaining Illusion types are weak), and a resistance to Nether.

I just beat the main game and immediately reincarnated all my puppets, except for my starter Murasa, which is level 78 and D type.

I tried, I was able to kill 3 of them with Murasa, but one of them has a heavy hitting dark move and I am not faster then it. I'm also using Murasa's poison heal and just stalling out with poison.

It'd be viable in the sense that she'd just turn into a disposable missile that'll be almost guaranteed at least a single kill if you bring her in at the right time, which does have its merits.

With her shit types you'll never get a second kill in netplay and it wouldn't be surprising to not be able to get a second kill in-game either, so it's still usually only going to be a 1 for 1 which isn't exactly impressive.

It's just level up affecting, just try not to use her much so she doesn't get too overleveled, when I went into makai Kogasa was 7 levels ahead of anyone else, even if I caught her later.

There's absolutely a difference in time it takes to level them and higher cost puppets will generally be a bit behind in the story unless you focus on them, but in terms of effectiveness once they're actually leveled it means very little to nothing.

There are multitudes of 100- cost puppets in the top 50 usage charts and multitudes of 120 cost puppets that aren't even in the top 100.

Shinki's a 120 cost with the highest BST in the game (Without a drawback ability) and her styles are still only #44 and #74 on the usage chart

OP should have links to the download, locale emulator, manual and wiki with the picture being something actually from the game, preferably something in-battle or anything that gives an example of what the game looks like. The expansion trailer is also fine to have.
