At level 14, Kecleon totally outdoes a level 7 Alakazam in every stat but HP. This is important because level matters a lot for damage dealt, and Kecleon levels twice as fast overall. By the look of things, Alakazam's only advantage is the ability to run away, which is still vital

how hard is the new mystery dungeon?

I remember that in blue rescue team there was a dungeon where the game resets the level of your party to 1 and you can't level up or something inside there, shit was difficult as fuck.

also, pic. related was basically a survival horror by the time you get to travel in time searching for dusknoir.

So I made my attempts with Hawlucha, and I was surprisingly doing pretty well. I usually kept dying at floor 11, but now I actually managed to make it to floor 23 (where I stupidly used a Two-Edged Wand on Primeape and he one shot me because I forgot he used Screech).

There's more pokemon: Claydol and Ivysaur apparently, and Sawk and Throh. Oh, and Bibarel.

Other thing: this dungeon is an utter troll. Seriously. Second picture here I actually had those 4 fucking Ledyba spawn literally on my screen on the fucking stairs.

Not sure why they couldn't put it in. Gates had repeatable missions (though you could only do one at a time), and it's obvious that a lot of things were taken from Gates for Super. If they didn't want to use the connection orb for it they could just use the board in front of the guild, couldn't they?

The human and their partner from SMD finally receive the call from Arceus to climb Destiny Tower once they are swole enough explorers. Format of the writing is in journal entries from Mawile, who begs to come along because the research opportunity to meet a deity and travel an unknown sacred tower is dank as fuck. The judgements and trials within immediately begin to fuck with everyone and all that jazz, illusions of sinners and loved ones n shit.

Don't let that discourage you from playing though, i still got a LOT of time out of the game, some people recruit everything in 70, i got it in like 190

Hows the connection orb coming along for you guys?
682/720 here, mostly legends left in annoyingly long dungeons and travelling Pokemon that don't want to spawn.

It's not the generator fucking up on you, Anon, it's the game making sure you don't start off with the shit it doesn't want you having until it's relevant to the main plot/it's been elaborated upon in an event that takes place as you go along with the story.

To make it short, let's say I wanted a White Silk as a quest reward to just make things simple. I'm a bit early on in the story, but I still want that because, I don't know, I don't agree with how those type buffs are handed out and the like.

Basically, the game wouldn't allow me to get it because, since I'm early on in the story, I haven't met Croagunk yet to have him elaborate on his shop, which allows you to get those sorts of items. The same goes for a lot of items in this way, so basically you could easily get a Wonder Chest/Golden Mask on your first adventure, but you couldn't get like exclusive items and the like.

This theory seems logical, except that I'm well into the game already.
I have roughly 25 hours of play time and beat the man story. Currently doing Sunflora's story located in Surrounding Sea.

I've also previously used the generator to give me a couple of link cables already for my Electabuzz and Kadabra.

I'm thinking somehow the game limits 2 items to be rewarded from the Wonder Mail system or something. Even though it also doesn't work for recruitment rewards, but I never got that to work.

This whole thing is really strange.

There are a bunch of fuckhuge stat tables for each Pokémon determining stat growth for each level.
Though how the developers determined the values to put in those tables I'm not sure. I doubt they did it manually, but every Pokémon seems to have unique stats, excluding evolutions.

Nah, i'm another anon.
Well if you want to know anything else that's not mentioned in your guide, basically having Magma Storm on your moveset is a must. That attack hits SO HARD, it can 2HKO a Delphox most of the time w/ Type Bulldozer. You'll also want to save your wands for the occasional Primeape, Bellossom, Alomomola or Cloyster, since they can end your run in one shot.
Heatran also has really decent stats at the beginning(18 Atk, 17 SpAtk and 45 HP are the ones I remember), but you'll need to use alot of speed boosting emeras.
Heatran really is a solid pick, though you'll find yourself relying on alot of elixirs. I lost 3 of my runs because I ran out of PP.

Kecleon has to be better than Alakazam against Parasect. By that point, you'll easily be more than double Alakazam's level, and Kecleon's levelups are FAR better than Zam's +1 hp +1 attack bullshit

That being said, Parasect is still THE biggest threat in Purity Forest. Simply put, you'll want an Insomniscope for floors 80 onwards.

Holy shit, I did it! I finally completed Sacred Ruins!

Had some amazing luck after the 25th floor. I could two shot everything and anything. Was really running out of apples, but I found a Joy Seed on the ground and a bunch of Tiny Reviver Seeds too (and a Brick Break!)
Pyroar and Bellossom nearly got me a few times, and one monster house filled to the brim with enemies nearly ended me on floor 22.

It helps to explore the entire floor before moving on on the earlier floors to level up and get all the items. Hawlucha's the best for this dungeon; I tried Heatran a few times, but it didn't give me the boost I needed like Hawlucha does. You'll be able to two shot enemies once you get passed lv. 12 and use Hone Claws about 3 times (depending on all the emeras you find of course).

I need a break now...

The game isn't "difficult" unless you speed through floors and force yourself to be underleveled

most of the challenge comes from random shit like spawning in big ass rooms with an enemy with roomclear all the way away from you or critical hits/multihit moves

Btw, I've been writing down all of the mons that appeared in the dungeon. There is a lot of them, some I was really surprised to find on my attempts and there's some serious threats on the higher floors (such as Pyroar). I hope this is helpful to you:

Superpower just stopped buffing my stats randomly. I haven't the faintest idea what happened, if an enemy used String Shot on me it'd still buff my speed, but i could turn around and Superpower them only to get my stats lowered.

Either way, it's nice to have some extra help finding out good strategies for this place, even if I'm slacking by playing Blue to recruit everything.

Strange. Did you try resetting the stats with a wonder tile nearby and raising/lowering the stats again? Maybe it can't stack raised and lowered certain stats at one time.

If there's anything else I can add to your guide, you really need to be on the ball with items in this dungeon and explore the entire floor(s). Get absolutely everything if possible. Sparkles are everywhere, and selling loopets and saving money is a must for Reviver Seeds in Kecleon's shop (has both tiny and regular, and joy seeds sometimes).
I wouldn't rush through the floors quickly unless you really need to, like from stronger enemies, monster houses, or status problems (or random weather).

Nah. There're fucktons of good IQ groups. Ironically, Concentrator is also in the worst one, specializing in throwing items, which is fucking C.

B is fucking amazing for party leader thanks to Deep Breather (free PP recovery while changing floors, and you're the one who uses most PP), Fast Friend, Nature Gifter iirc, Coin Watcher and ofc Trap Seer.
Not to mention B includes lot of good pokemons, including many water types which are often useful for water cheesing and obtaining treasures.
H is similar but has shit pokemon pool.

You want at least one pokemon with A or G iq groups because they have Map Surveyor and Stair Sensor. Those skills coupled with X-Ray item are godly and let you hunt for pokemons, items and avoid enemies really easy.

E iq group is surprisingly nice. Survivalist, Deep Breather, healing skills make exploration much cheaper (no need for much food, PP recovery items and healing items, especially if you have grass type, like Torterra), Sure Hit attacker makes you hit every fucking time with exception of fuckers with Forewarn ability (Drowzee and Smoochum evolutions), and stats don't matter because you can cap everything at 255 with stat boosters (HP is capped at 999) which deals decent damage, also Intimidator cockblocks your enemies pretty fucking often. It's rather good group for soloing dungeons. The only downside is lack of orientation skills and no status recovery.

Also I noticed having status healer like Miltank is fucking amazing. Heals evry fucking status and gets free PP recovery on floor change.

I've been leading my team with Jirachi in order to recruit all the legendaries, and having Confusion routinely miss twice in a row is torture. I stopped using Rotom because his Discharge would usually hit less than half of the enemies in a monster house.

Besides you get Magnet Bomb which always hits, and you can learn Shock Wave, which is long range, always hitting STAB. You can cover disguisting earth weakness with Builder Sash.

I picked Turtwig as starter (becaue Torterra is favourite), evolved him into Torterra, got Earthquake and for some time I had to run Gastly as my 2nd slot pokemon so I wouldn't kill him while clearing monster houses. Room wide skills go only 1 cell deep into "pathes".
Earthquake is suffering, especially when you pick partner lie Vulpix.

Thankfully Wooper gets two good abilities. Before everything automatically avoided traps, allies would just go out of their way to jump on explosion traps, and Damp prevents that from doing anything.

SMD is actually really good, I don't think it looks too bad. granted the framerate takes a dive in a certain battle

If you somehow happen upon a Barboach egg, you can reset for its moves i hear. You can hatch eggs faster by going into the dojo and instantly selecting "Give Up." Doing this counts as a day without getting sent to the Bluff or the Guild.

Also speaking of restarting. Any ideas if there's any way of fixing worn out power slider in NDS Lite? It doesn't work as good as it used to. Omnious Wind is learned at 32 lvl. That's like few dozens of floors.

in level 1 dungeons, you dont need ominous wind. Drifblim is THE pokemon for Destiny Tower, which allows NO IQ skills, not even Item Master, so even if Reviver Seeds existed, they'd be unusable.

Drifblim's best moveset? Astonish/Gust/MINIMIZE/Stockpile near the end. This cannot be stated enough, you NEED MINIMIZE. It gets used twice per usage, so that's 54 uses of Minimie.

I've done many rescues in ZIS with Drifblim, and no pokemon is as close to the safety that Drifblim provides. Unburden is flat out THE best ability there, it essentially doubles your attack stat and PP all at once. The next best thing in evasiveness is Detect Band Smoochum.

The only sort of explanation I could come up with is that some ghost Pokemon are more corporeal than others, which is why a Rotom can go through walls and, say, a Chandelure couldn't.

I only got it to show travelers when I had completed every available mission

Although there was a time I was completing missions in a dungeon and the connection orb told me there was a traveler in that same dungeon. Maybe it tells you there's a traveler if you're in the same dungeon, even if you haven't finished every mission

First time playing PMD. I just beat the game and I got my friend back, I feel bad for Mew because he wanted to be part of the adventurers but now that my friend is back Mew went back to the forest..

Is there a reason to keep playing this game? I kinda want to recruit all the pokemons but on the other hand the orb is annoying, I hate when I have to talk to 5-6 pokemons because you spend like 10 mins watching the connected orb shit.

Here's a good tip for Riolu
Counter can counter all physical attacks. Including Ghost
What this means is you can use Counter against Ghosts or any Pokemon which Fightan wouldn't effect, and as long as that enemy uses a physical attack, Rio will counter it and damage them
Thus why Counter is one of the greatest moves for Riolu in PMD

You're wrong. Compare 3D on Sony handhelds and Nintendo handhelds. Compare fucking GTA: Liberty City Stories or any other game which came out on PSP to Okamiden or new Pokemons which came out not on NDS, but n3DS. Nintendo handhelds can't handle decent 3D so they shouldn't push for this shit so much. It isn't fucking PC where you can try to run games without meeting hardware requirements, game should work smooth 100% of the time. But we get terrible looking 3D and framrate drops insetad.

If Nintendo starts making more powerfull consoles then sure, they could make 3D. But now they should stay with 2D. Gen4 in main Pokemon series is where they should fucking stop. Some 3D elements, mostly map, the rest in sprites.

Graphics in dungeons in Sky or Rescue teams are acceptable because they make everything look clear and are aesthetically pleasant.
Not everything must be high tech, but graphics in every game should be intuitive.

I mean, OP has link to Blue and Sky. If you look hard enough, you'll find Adventure Squad (which is nice enough to be a time waster, but don't expect any kind of plot; it's also Japanese only, but it's not that bad if you know your games; keeps many things from Sky but adds some new stuff).

There's also GtI. we're still waiting on great 3DS emulating but we're closer to that every day.

But the DS dungeons looked like complete garbage. They were eyesores most of the time. The frame rate issues with SMD were borderline non-existent and the 3d models look just fine.

I don't know why p[eople complain about framerate issues. The only time I've ever had my frames drop was during the Yvetal cutscene because I had the 3D slider on. I've had it off the rest of the game and have never had any frame rate drops that I can recall.

GTI's plot was pretty mediocre and had a pretty lackluster finish. It took the whole "you can do anything if you just believe!" too far. I can get maybe your partner being so fond that they still remember you after you leave, but it makes little sense for literally every other NPC to remember you even though they were pretty detached from you emotionally.

All the plots are mediocre and I accept your criticisms.

I just prefer GtIs plot holes, pathetic story length, and over the top themes to sky's shitty plot devices, cliches, obvious twists, and bland characters
