I'm I the only one that prefers when moves weren't split by phys/spec? After the split I feel like pokemon were able to become specialized and the game turned into hyper offence one shotting.

Also Ghost being physical type is just bonkers, especially considering Shadow ball has been the signature ghost move since Gen 2

You were meant to use physical moves like slash and then switch to specialized STAB moves against opponents that that could resist physical moves. That was the point, you were suppose to be strategic. You weren't suppose to dump all your points to hyper inflate one stat then be able to just use one STAB move on everything regardless of typing.

I think it just doesn't make sense for something like Thunderpunch to be special. It's a fucking punch. Plus even if he's shit anyways, it didn't make sense for Hitmonchan to get elemental punches as signature moves in the first gen but have absolutely no use for them.

I think Draco Meteor, Outrage buff, Choice Specs, and Choice Scarf being introduced all in the game gen contributed to this more than anything else
