It's a alternate form, btw I like Hoopa Unbound, it reminds me the style of monsters from Dragon Quest.

I'm watching the movie now. Is it just me or does the voice sound way less annoying than it did in the trailer? I didn't expect it to not suck so bad.

The trailer was a WIP on both ends. The Japanese trailer was made way before the story was finalized and had a bunch of scenes that were cut or rearranged, and they replaced Hoopa's dub voice actor between the dub of the trailer and the dub of the final movie. All in all it was a trainwreck.

Nope, it's not, I know the digimon style.
You guys must understand that just because something is not "natural" to see in pokémon, it is not automatically digimon, Hoopa Unbound is more like a Monster that you could find in others JRPG.

Actually surprised TPCi responded to the negative feedback from the trailer and changed Hoopa's voice.

Usually, they don't bother. Or at least that's what I assume given their on record stance of the normal Anime.
