Friendly advice, don't click U-turn if you know it's gonna faint the opponent, since that will force you to switch in your next mon, leaving the opponent with the opportunity to safely check or counter your switch-in. Basically, the opposite result of what you want U-turn to accomplish, as you'll lose momentum / be one step behind.

If you need a move besides U-turn to spam with reckless abandon, teach it Knock Off.

Not necessarily true. U-Turn/Volt Switching into something that forces out X Pokemon to avoid letting the opponent, for example, set up rocks, is a very viable and common play.

Yes, but that assumes the mon taking the U-turn survives, so that you're the one who can switch in your next mon based on what the opponent has on the field, and not the other way around.

Sometimes, using U-turn/Voltswitch just to ensure that the opponent faints can be more favourable than losing a bit of momentum, but it's not something to be spammed without thinking.

I think you misunderstood, because as best as I can tell you've pretty much repeated what I said.

I'll give an example -

Say you have Raikou on the field and your opponent has a Keldeo on the field. It's somewhat late into the game, and your team has been weathered down to the point where the opposing Charizard X can sweep if it can manage to Dragon Dance. Your opponent has Zard and Latios.

If you don't use Volt Switch to kill the Keldeo, the Zard X can Dragon Dance and revenge sweep. However, if you Volt Switch out, killing the Keldeo, into X Pokemon, even if it is beaten by Latios, you prevent the Dragon Dance and can still win.

Maybe that is too complicated of a scenario. It makes sense in my mind, anyway.
