I think it'd be pretty risky. You really have no idea what kind of person will try to catch you one day. You can just be chilling with or without friends, then suddenly somebody busts in and starts beating the shit out of you. Then the pokeball sort of brainwashes you and magically you are totally devoted to this person who only seconds ago had one of their other slaves beat you senseless and you will now follow their every command. At this point, you could either begin a life of battling or merely be sent back to hang out in a pokemon farm with a professor because the trainer only wanted you as a novelty catch for their collection
