>>24953123Gates to Infinity, while not a bad game on its own, is generally considered the weakest PMD game
except the Wiiware game but we don't talk about that game due to a lack of content (only five starters, less than 150 recruitable Pokémon, etc.; Sky had 19 starters and 492 Pokémon by comparison)
I'm the one who posted
>>24953555 and my main issues with Super Mystery Dungeon (the new one) are them changing the whole mission system from infinite randomly generated missions and a random chance to recruit a Pokémon at any time when defeating it, to a finite number of special missions that recruit Pokémon upon completion. And it's a lot of missions, I still haven't finished them all, but it's still finite and I'm not going to have anything to do in the game when I finish. The game is also super slow to start and has some bad choices regarding character focus.
That being said, PSMD does a ton of shit right. The new mission system is still fun even if there's the issue with being finite, I like the new items, there are a ton of dungeons to choose from in the game, it has every Pokémon and brought back a lot of shit Gates didn't have, kept a lot of the good shit Gates added like move levelling, etc.
I recommend playing Blue or Sky first to see if you like the series since it's not for everyone, and consider playing PSMD if you like it. Only play Gates if you find it really cheap used or something, since again, it's not a bad game, just weaker than all the others in the series.
