The unique perks it brings over them (unique overworld, straying from formula, actual story, 3D environment) critics don't give a shit about. They only play the first 15-20 minutes to 1 hour and say "oh, it's a Pokemon game in 3D".
I like the games, but they do have a lot of problems. I just wish we got another game in Orre to fix them. Hell, any acknowledgement of Orre would be great.
