>>25003229Instead of Brock trying to pick up chicks and misty or someone pulling him away it's Bonnie trying to pick up chicks for him and Clemont pulling her away. It's pretty much the same thing. Even though it's not original it's one of the least tiresome things on the show because Bonnie is pretty well done.
Clemont always tries to fix shit with a machine and then it fails. That is all he does along with know how battling works. Brock gave advice and tried to solve problems like "I think we should do this" and he was the most knowledgeable and usually was right. Sometimes he just said "You know what Misty I don't fucking know". He had more to him than picking up chicks. Clemont has nothing more than his machines except for the time he was a gym leader for one fight.
Pokemon like Psyduck early on and Grovile (even though a bit edgy) were much better characters than most characters in XY.
Some of the most unique stuff I saw on XY was mega lucario going insane. It was very interesting but then they fucking ruined it. They dragged it out way to long to the point were it became annoying. The resolution was obvious and when it happened it felt unsatisfying.
I give credit to XY when they try new things but they rarely do and when they do they always fail. Honestly I don't expect much from a pokemon anime. Just be watch-able, don't make it a chore to watch. XY feels like a chore and the good parts only stand out because the rest is so terrible.
