>>24993703Well the species themselves would be the "classes", which is what causes the problem in how the skill tree would work unless it's like Persona Q where that system is integrated with the persona system in some way.
Like maybe do level up moves like mystery dungeon but have a deviation that would incorporate the passive stat boost skills in the EO games. Or get rid of the level up pool altogether and give a skill tree dependent on species with less moves but more organized options (e.g. "Ember -> Flamethrower -> Fire Blast" would be a branch for some mons, "Fire/Ice/Thunder Punch -> Dynamic Punch" could be another, that kind of thing).
Unfortunately that seems like it would be a lot of work, especially factoring in the 400+ pokemon families that are out there unless the possible skill trees is pretty limited and are given out to pokemon that fulfill similar roles.
