Why has the Pokemon fanbase devolved into either autistic manchildren (YouTubers, Smogon, etc.), cynical douchebags (/vp/), or nostalgiafaggots (everyone else)? Is seems like the Pokemon community just keeps getting more an more toxic.

Probably because most of the people who are still fans are either literally children or have watched the games slide into mediocrity (which, if we're honest, was not a very far slide--the older games are pretty shit when you take off those rose colored goggles) and become bitter nostalgia-addicts begging for our next hit from a dealer we reluctantly still go to.

Most of the functional human beings realized the games aren't worth the money any more and left for greener pastures.

Or maybe I'm just another cynical shit spouting opinions.

I think people who keep saying pokemon games new and old are not good games are pretty retarded. Not only do they sell well, so some people must think they are good, they are also well reviewed for the most part. You can pick them up for the first time, even the old ones, and enjoy them quite a bit. A lot of people do.

All these retards must be satisfying their elitist egos by saying pokemon games aren't good and never where. They are a only a delusion unfounded by fact.
