Why? The fact that it's pure fairy is pretty cool and flavourful. It's a defensive pokemon where mono-fairy serves it better than psychic/fairy a typing that's good for offense but not so much for defensive.

Klefki is tied with Mawile as objectively best Fairy-type mon. That Steel typing makes them nearly invincible.

Mawile's typing renders it IMMUNE to Dragon and Poison, only suffers normal damage from Steel, Fighting, Ghost, Water, and Electric, and is only weak to ground and fire.

Klefki has the exact same type as Mawile

Ergo, they are objectively two of the best fairies out there in terms of defenses.

klefki lacks recovery moves and mega-mawile's main use is offense although the good defensive-typing+intimidate helps a lot
