If you never cared for the Pokemon, it's tough to remain neutral on it when it gets shilled nonstop and any other Pokemon from gen 4 that you like gets next no merch/exposure whatsoever since GF is so busy trying to turn you into a Lucariofag.
That's why, as someone who's chosen the grass type starter since Blue, I'm naturally apprehensive to liking the fire starters because I know it's going to be another generation of them being stuffed down our throats a la Charizard.
Speaking of, I can't stand that guy. Really hard to maintain interest in a series that focuses almost exclusively on one type of starter while grass and water get fuck all.
