>>25020957I'm sad to not see Rock being nearly as buffed as Ice, despite that type breeding more defensive species overall. The Rock resistance is nice, but I would've liked to have seen either their Steel, Ground, or maybe even Water weakness removed. The flinch immunity is nice, but nothing substantial as it's only beneficial in certain situations.
Grass could also ditch its Flying weakness. I'm fine with them being so awful offensively since Rock coverage patches it up for the most part, and they also have numerous status moves at their disposal.
>>25022051I've been cautious about jumping on the Poison vs Water bandwagon before, but you make some good points. Poison is also completely blocked by Steel types, which would mean that certain attackers would need to choose between steel and water/fairy coverage on their sets.
>>25022126Then what about all the official Ice types that were made bulky? Cause they's plenty of them. Rather than hoping that GF will exclusively develop fast and offensive Ice types from now on, adjusting the type chart will make all kinds of builds at least bearable, rather than just enforcing one archetype.
Having different types cover different things defensively does not make for a homogenized meta. If anything, it creates more diversity, since attackers no longer would need to account for just steel and fairy types, but also other types that may completely block their STAB combination.
