You see, I'm currently playing through Pokemon Blaze Black 2 and have just gotten my 2nd badge. But prior to reaching Virbank City, I had a caught a Poliwag. I wasn't too keen on having a Politoad (Poliwrath was out of the question, I didn't like it's design at all) but my team needed a bit more diversity (Only had a Snivy and Lillipup) and thought I should just keep Poliwag around until I find another water type I actually like.

So after going to the construction sight and getting Poliwag up to my team's level, I proceeded to head to Virbank Gym and get my 2nd gym badge, but stopped along the way and tried fishing near the area to see if there would be any cool water pokemon I could get. 3 hooks later I find a freaking Horsea. I thought about it's final evolution, Kingdra and thought "This is it!" and caught it. So my team consisted of a lvl 19 Servine, lvl 18 Herdier, lvl 18 Poliwag, and a lvl 11 Horsea.

After healing them at the pokemon center, I went straight to the Gym. The first 2 fodder were easy as expected, but Roxy...I had the same problem with Cheren. Whenever their last pokemon comes out, they just effortlessly sweep my whole team. Roxy just kept on kicking my ass. On I think my 5th try, with Servine and Herdier fainted, and her Crogunk at 1/3 of it's health, I sent in Horsea (at lvl 15 due to EXP Share) but it immediately got oneshotted.
