Furthermore most of the Japanese I know don't even watch the anime. It's true that it's much more promoted over there (obviously) but the percentage of people who actually watch it is probably just about slightly higher than ours

Besides, ashime is just one of the advertising channels, although by far the biggest one.

Yeah but consider that 31/50 fucking Nips were SALTY at the fact that Chandelure was added into Pokken. That poll was from 2011, it's likely they revised their taste through the influence (or rather the lack of thereof) of the ashnime.

Are you talking about the prediction poll with the staff? They were just salty because they didn't expect it to be added especially since it's just an odd choice for a fighting game. A lot of the actual fans were happy with it. Lots of people stll like Chandelure.

For what is apperentely *the* most popular generation 5 Pokemon in Nipland you'd expect more people would be happy with Chandelure even if they couldn't predict it's addition. There was even an option for that in the poll - "my prediction was wrong, but I'm still happy".

That or gen V just isn't especially popular in Japan. Maybe the Nips at Bamco really wanted that Pikachu: Red Jacket Forme and Light Lucario instead, who knows.
