i bought like 20 base set 2 packs from a guy locally for 20 dollarydoos each. all i got was 2 alakazams, a poliwrath, a clefable, a wigglytuff and a chansey. literally no cool holos.
so i gave up trying to find it myself since no one else sold cheap packs, and i decided to look for a perfect condition, graded and sealed zapdos on it's own.
to me it was all about the journey finding it. it was fun as hell. gave me something to do to pass the time. wait for cards in the mail, open them with my friends, have a good time, etc etc.
but in the end i just gave up and resorted to settling. i still hope one day to buy a complete box of base set boosters just for fun. i just hope i can save enough money for that before they either all sell or get twice as expensive!
