>>25029094Aside from the game itself, I guess there is a physical limitation to how an attack can be performed in the pokemon world. It probably has something to do with energy since move require it to work and you are limited on how much you have. You could probably have 5 attacks but they would be of low quality and compromise the other moves. As for physical moves (punching, scratching, biting, kicking, etc...) I take it that in the anime world pokemon can do these moves independently of the main 4 moves.
