The building and the entrance is kinda bland without giving a reason to put it there. Put pathways over it, and a few buildings because people lived there you know. You can add more features like a fountain, fences, and a barn.
Do you see the horizon midway? I suspect that the mountain is over the ground. If you give the mountain a "faraway look," try putting flowers in front of it. It's a technique to show the mountain to look to be far away.
If you see the other picture, it blended a little white over the background. Try to shade it a little white. Also, you didn't blur the flowers. It may look ugly if you think at it, but it is a style that shows a kinda watercolor feel to your drawing. It may work. Blend it to the direction the sun is facing.
As far as I can tell, it's incredible to see someone to redraw an inspired person's artstyle. You can be better if you try again, it's a matter of fun. I'm a hobbyist too.
