There's some truth to it (Charizard can melt nearly anything), there are things that are obviously exaggeration (it can melt 10,000 tons of glazier), and then there are things that might be true, but we can't say for sure (It can melt boulders)
Although a lot of people are too harsh on the dex, you can't deny that a lot of the content is doubt-able, and sounds like myth (kid turned into a Kadabra, Dusclops is like a black hole, the temperature of several fire-pokemon etc etc etc
i can't come up with an example now, but i'm pretty sure some dex entries even contradict things possible in the games themselves
