This is a very legitimate argument. Smogon is really hypocritic when it comes to RNG aspects of Pokemon and their uncompetitiveness. They should've taken RNG-removal measures a long time ago.

Screw that. RNG is what makes it fun. If RNG weren't there, unskilled palyers would never win. I royally suck at all games and adding randomness is the only thin g I can do to ever even approach "gitting gud". Shit just isn't fun for shitters like me if luck can't help me out every once in a while.

VGC is the official meta where nothing but event legendaries are banned. The format is doubles and this leads to players using many things that would just be thrown into the trash by smogon rules.

All in all VGC is a very diverse metagame with no two teams looking alike.

Smogon ruleset used to be playable in gen 4. As soon as gen 5 dropped, smogon went to shit really quickly. They then had to jump through so many hoops just to make singles work. Also, it's run by pedos these days, so you're better off just not playing pokemon at all.

That's literally impossible to even come close because of the difference in base stats. Sometimes not even 0IVs and EVs in a stat can make it similar to the stat of a different Pokemon.

Been playing Smogon with friends and have to ask, "Which is the best format for fun?"

Does OU seems like the obvious answer, but is there a larger range of usable Pokemon in RU or NU because their are less big threats? I'm just curious. It's been a while sense I played, and now I mostly stick to Random Battles.

They should've just banned Smeargle. Denissss pass doesn't work without Smeargle, since you need Ingrain to prevent Roar Tyranitar from shitting all over you. Smeargle also stops that Geomany-Baton Pass bullshit everybody was so butthurt over.

Seriously, instead of all that convoluted baton-pass "only 1 guy and it can't pass speed" nonsense, they should've just bumped Smeargle to Ubers.

Obviously the answer depends on what Pokemon you find fun to use and play against.

I think UU is the best tier, but I also enjoy RU, NU and PU. These tiers also got way better now that the mega/non-mega usage were split. I think UU is in a very good spot right now.

Actually, I kinda wonder why Crawdaunt was ever banned in the first place? It's not very good, and Hydreigon s usually better as a Dark Type wallbreaker. It usually just uses Aqua Jet once and then dies, no longevity at all.
