>>25090864I used to win consistently with a mono-bug team in 5th gen Pokemon Online. It's been a while, but iirc it went something like this:
-Scizor - Choice Band, U-Turn, Pursuit, Bullet Punch, Superpower.
Standard. Helps counter Flying/Rock weakness.
- Forretress - Sturdy, Red Card, Volt Switch, Gyro Ball, Rapidspin, Entry Hazard
They hit you with something super-effective and get sent out, you then set up an entry hazard or volt-switch into something that kills them. Nobody expects this shit; super-useful.
-Volcarona - Standard set w/ Giga Drain to check the abundance of Rain Dance teams and keep it alive longer. Also ran Substitute on it iirc.
- Venomoth - Tinted Lens, Focus Sash, Bug Buzz, Sleep Powder, Quiver Dance, Baton Pass
Gives no fucks about Bug Buzz being NVE against so many types because of tinted lens. Sleep 'em, then buff and BP or sweep.
Yanmega - Standard set, may or may not have ran Rain Dance on it to stop Fire.
Galvantula - Forget which moves it rocked aside from Thunder (dem Compoundeyes) and possibly Volt Switch. I recall it making a very good receiver for Venomoth's Baton Pass.
Genesect - This guy was banned in OU but not in Monotype for some reason, so I'd replace Galvantula with it depending on the format I was playing. If there were no Fire-users left, it'd rape. Rape hard.
This team won a good 80-90% of the Monotype matches I played, and would net more wins than losses in general OU.
