Who's entering the Kanto classic?

I think I want to use Venusaur, Clefable, Alakazam, Gyarados, Zapdos, Dragonite or something along those lines, especially with that Ice disadvantage. I know the prize is just for a shitty Dnite with barrier, but the mode itself seems fun

With no items allowed Multiscale Dragonite can take an Ice Beam from pretty much anything and DD. People are going to need to run Blizzard or at least Icy Wind to not get swept by this thing.

No, the gen V equivalent of this was boring as shit. Nothing but Dragonites and Cloysters, with an occasional Rocky Helmet Slowbro showing up here and there.

No. I used one back in 2012. It was a complete deadweight for the majority of the time. Regardless of the moveset Sub Dragonite (which WILL be on every team) will absolutely shit on it. If you're looking for a Cloyster counter either run Slowbro or don't bother at all.

Status protection. I assume this will be the most common variant now since items are not allowed. Otherwise Lum Dragonite would again regin supreme. Actually, now that I think about it I'm not sure why would you even run Magneton without Eviolite.

Dragonite, Cloyster, and Clefable all seem like strong picks.

I might give Dugtrio a shot if it can KO thinks without Choice Band. But other than that, Venasaur, Alakazam, Machamp, Gengar, Slowbro, Starmie, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Aerodactyl, Zapdos, and Tauros all seem team-worthy.
