Why XY is so good? Best evolutions (Fletchinder and Talonflame were pretty much the best in the whole history of pokemon), best girl, best Ash, best companions, best team and it's only 5 members.

Most overrated battle in the series.

Ash's mons bulking all those moves was pure plot armor
Jerky animation and fugly CGI beams everywhere, clearly saving budget for XYZ
Only autismcats for a seventh gym is lame as fuck, could have done a slowbro/king battle as well and some hawlucha/noibat bro-op

Definitely low tier for XY battles, especially gyms.

The cats took way less damage, and also had screens up. Ash's mons bulking TWO Helping Hand STAB Future Sights, plus all that other shit, was bullshit. If they had another match prior to that, and Ash could scout it out, and bulk one at most, it would be believable.

I just found it too slow paced. Olympia's combined moves weren't that special (beams galore) and using pikachu to time future sight is pretty bullshit desu I don't think something like that should be legal (but that's just my autism speaking)

I can accept that Pokemon take more damage in the anime. By real standards Ash's mons wouldn't bulk a single future sight like that. But two, plus all the other shit, was way too much.

What the fuck are you even talking about in the second part? The only attack that was reflected was Future Sight, and they resist that. And light screen weakens Water Pulse. Do you even know how actual battles work?

female meowstic took a brave bird, water pulse, then when ash asked Talonflame to take a nosedive, it took psyshock and dark pulse, followed by getting thrown into future sight and talonflame ending the match with flame charge

Another great thing about this battle that goes unmentioned was the male Meowstic having its Hidden Ability. They never do that and it made him feel more special and Olympia more threatening.
