I realize it's going to get more noticeable if they keep remaking them. As in the fact that the layout is really simplistic, and that they can't even have day/night cycles lest your eevee becomes umbreon or espeon. Do you think they'll just retcon some things in order to have something worth full price for what would mostly be a graphical update? We already have virtual console and one remake.

Well I think it should be the Original 151 + their mega in the beginning and after beating the game or Post Story, you could Unlock the Daycare, More Evo stones etc.

Fug, but I don't know if it's worth remaking unless they do some continuity clean up through a semi-reboot. The originals are still fun to play and FRLG still look pretty, so unless they're doing a remix instead of a remake I'd rather GF spend their time and resources on a Gen IV remake.

Red2/Green2 like BW2.
Takes part some years after Gold/Silver, has new areas, maybe parts of Johto instantly available.
New pokemon from all gens populating old areas.

Yet another same game would just be boring.

Gen 1 doesn't need to be remade. Gen 5 captured the fresh feeling just as well. Hopefully Gen 7 follows suit.

If they're going to remake them again they need to do a MASSIVE revamp. I mean change tons of shit. Change how the battle system works. Add tons of new areas. Expand old ones. Alter many of the pokemons stats and moves and give them new ones. CHange some more pokemons abilities or even typings. Overhaul it in a huge project that balances the game within itself so all pokermon are moderately viable and balanced to fit into some sort of team. Make competitve play more newbie friendly instead of the retarded system of EV IV currently implace.

They cant just rinse and rewash with a new paint job while adding a spoiler fin on the back of this new vehicle.They need to turn the car into that flying ship they promised us in the 50s that we'd all be riding by now. Or in the least into a street legal hoover machine or jet back.
