Eighteen months to two years between games used to be the standard. before the last few games.

While it is good that it seems they are taking their time with this game in order to improve it, the truth is all we'll see is around 15 new mega evolutions, and not much else. A few new routes can't save the Kalos region thanks to its abundant tiny, linear ones. The wait will not be worth it.

This is why you guys "hate" X/Y and OR/AS. You got overly hyped for it and it didn't meet your expectations. Meanwhile I didn't muster in the hype at all and when the games came out, I wasn't disappointed because it didn't meet my expectations, considering I didn't have any expectations. I'm just doing the same thing for the next game. My expectations of it are to be a mildly better version of X/Y.

another reason why i want another game is because i didnt like XY/ORAS

waiting for gen6 was easy because BW2 was so perfect, i could easily pass the time with it

Yes because I gave my daughter my copy of X for her birthday and I don't want to buy LITERALLY the same game again just because I want customization, which Alpha Sapphire doesn't have.

I'm totally fine buying BASICALLY the same game, though.

Megas count, like it or not, as new pokemon in pretty much everyone's eyes. We got like 100 new ones in gen 6, and like 120 in total counting ORAS.
Pokemon is already dead to me though. They need at least 200 new pokemon before remakes of gen 4 are going to be worth playing, they'd also need to include those pokemon in the remakes of gen 4 before I would bother playing it, but that's a whole different topic
