I'll admit I do default to thinking about Pokemon when I'm bored enough. Sometimes when I'm outside I like to imagine what Pokemon these perfect strangers would have.

No. I think about it most of the time, I daydream about many times a day and love the games, having put thousands of hours into games and romhacks over the years. I have no social life and the only time I interact with people outside of college breaks is on the internet, which is still sparse, with me just being acquaintances with 2-3 people irl and online , no real friends. I browse /vp/ and play Showdown everyday and I know that one day /vp/ will be dead (probably within 10 years) and that the mainline games will end at Gen 7 and it scares me for the future.

About 4 years ago I started playing League of Legends and I would think about the game every day for about 2 years straight. Maybe would've had the chance to go pro, had I stayed on the correct path and kept climbing the ladder, but that was a foolhardy dream.
I've been addicted to Pokemon at points; usually when a new game is announced. But I can get obsessive about any game I find enjoyable. Not much else for me to do with myself.

I have some friends that roll their eyes around me, but they at least admire my intense passion and indulge me. I have enough awareness though to back off if it's the wrong time and place.

I'm obsessed with Pokémon. I have been buying cards, games, figures, all merchandise. I have a social life and my girlfriend enjoys opening booster boxes with me or collection boxes. Her reaction when I pull something amazing is hella cute, she gets excited just like me. As for my other part of social life. I trade a lot locally. I put the word out there that I buy pokemon merchandise and i get texts and calls. People contact me, mostly adults getting rid of their kids old stuff. Very nice people with interesting stories. I love buying Pokémon stuff, can't wait for Pokémon go

Pic is of a booster box me and my gf bought. We pulled 3 charizard Ex cards that day.

Is it possible to be a regular of /vp/ or any other 4chan board and being open about it IRL and have alot of friends? Back in my high school years when I was always on /b/, /v/ and always browsed cringe threads/blogs online, I was on them all the time outside of school and pretty much referenced memes from these boards. I shared dank memes from pages like "cell (offensive humor)" and "bardock obama" on facebook all the time, and talked about cringeworthy shit I've found online in everyday conversation. Most people either didn't care, don't understand the humor/memes or straight up harassed me for that. Yeah, I was a total autist back then. Funny thing is that the popular kids at HS started rumors about me having autism.

Nowadays, I'm not on the 'chins as much and never reference 4chan/internet culture, memes or "cringe" in conversation with other people, none of the people I talk to or my coworkers know I brose 4chan or anything like that.

So back to what I said, is it possible to be on 4chan alot and not be alienated or looked down on IRL by normies for it?

I'm autistic and have 'high periods' for games where I only play that and nothing else, but usually I only confine that to my weekends anymore since the regular week is too busy.

Like right now my high is The Witcher 3, and I'm in anticipation for shit like Dark Souls 3, Far Cry Primal, and The Division, but I would only even begin to care on Saturday and Sunday when, you know, I actually play any games I have.

The only interest I have anymore in this community is competitive, fangames, mystery dungeon, and shitposting

Tried getting away from it many times but I just can't. I just switch between games, spin-offs, anime, and cards as I see fit.

Funny thing is I've been playing since gen 1 but only really got into Pokemon in gen 3, when people around me mostly started abandoning the franchise. Anyone else in the same boat?
